Solitary Moonlight

Deep into the moon
Every night I stare
Knowing all my life
We drift away from a pair
It's clearly hidden
Behind dark shaded clouds
Weakens me how it's just I
Gazing up at this light
I have a deep connection
To this giant ball of rock
I don't understand the world
How easily they all forgot
It is there every night
Un-moving from its place
This bright, small, dusty thing
Outshining the stars in space
It's teased, mocked, and cast down upon
Amazingly it still shines through
On the blackness that it is strawn
Without a care, it still stays strong
Because it knows where it belongs
My watch beeps in rhythm
